Wel zo Roze strengthens well-being, care, safety and connection for LGBTQI+ people in Amsterdam. For young people seeking support. For newcomers who need a safe base. For seniors who want to grow their network. And for everyone who wants to contribute to a community where you can be yourself.

Together we get things moving
Wel zo Roze brings together people who need support and people who want to help. We connect young people, newcomers, seniors and volunteers. Not from systems, but from contact. Because making a difference often starts small: with a meeting, a buddy or a safe place.
What we're building
Four pillars, one movement that makes the difference
Meetups
We organise activities where people get to know each other, share stories and build new connections.
Guidance
Through buddies and volunteers we offer personal support, practical help and a trusted face.
Safety
We work on safe places for people who temporarily have nowhere to go or don't feel safe.
Participation
We help people find their place in society with confidence, a network and perspective.

Being yourself is not always self-evident
For some LGBTQI+ young people home is not always safe. Newcomers often carry experiences of exclusion or violence. And seniors can face a smaller social network. That's exactly why connection matters so much.
That's why we're building a stronger LGBTQI+ network in Amsterdam. Not as a temporary initiative, but as a community that keeps growing while seeking collaboration with other initiatives to achieve more together.

With meetups, personal support, safe places and targeted shelter.
Buddy Program
A buddy can make just the difference. Someone who listens, thinks along or simply stays in touch regularly. People next to people.
Host Home Project
For LGBTQI+ youth, status holders and young people in acute unsafe situations, we build safe temporary housing — always carefully organised and where needed with professional partners.
LGBTQI+ Refugee Support
A safe foundation for LGBTQI+ asylum seekers. Not segregation, but protection, recognition and connection to the city.

With a signature at the notary our plans gained a formal footing, and with it the room to apply for funding and really start building our activities.
