What Wel zo Roze stands for
Wel zo Roze is committed to the well-being, health, safety and social participation of LGBTQI+ people. The foundation focuses specifically on people who need support, connection, guidance or a safe place.

Promoting the well-being, health, safety and social participation of LGBTQI+ people.

Offering and developing safe shelter, guidance and housing for LGBTQI+ homeless youth, asylum seekers, refugees and status holders.

Encouraging, supporting and/or managing an LGBTQI+ asylum seekers' centre (AZC) or a related initiative.

Strengthening social networks and connection within the LGBTQI+ community as a whole and its organisations in particular.

How we aim to achieve our goals
Wel zo Roze brings together people, organisations and initiatives. The basis for implementation is collaboration with the LGBTQI+ community and the organisations active within it.

Organising meetup activities
We connect the LGBTQI+ community, explicitly including LGBTQI+ seniors, with LGBTQI+ homeless youth, asylum seekers and status holders.

Developing a buddy program
We pair volunteer LGBTQI+ buddies — young adults, adults and seniors — with LGBTQI+ homeless youth, asylum seekers or status holders, for personal guidance in finding their way in Dutch society.

Providing host homes
We work on temporary housing with LGBTQI+ young adults, adults and seniors who are able to offer it.

Enabling crisis shelter
We want to contribute to crisis shelter for LGBTQI+ young people aged 12 to 18, always handled carefully and in collaboration with professional partners.

Other activities
The foundation also undertakes any other activities that contribute to its purpose.
Collaborating with the community
The basis for implementing these plans is forming partnerships with the LGBTQI+ community and the organisations active within it. Research has shown that around 60 organisations are potentially relevant. In autumn 2026 Wel zo Roze will undertake various activities to involve these organisations and get them excited about collaboration.
Together we're building a network that supports, connects and helps people move forward.
Board works on a voluntary basis
Board members receive no remuneration for their work. The internal regulations may however set rules allowing board members to be reimbursed for expenses incurred while carrying out their role.
Any staff that may be hired will be paid in line with the CAO Welzijn (Dutch welfare sector collective labour agreement).
First-year budget
For the first year, from 1 July 2026 through 30 June 2027, the following funds have been budgeted.
