Volunteers are the heart of Wel zo Roze. Whether you're good at organising, listening, cooking, language, administration, communication, or simply enjoy meaning something to someone else: your effort can make a difference.

What can you do?

There's always a way to contribute

Wel zo Roze is looking for people who want to help with meetups, the buddy program, practical support, communications, fundraising and building the foundation further. Volunteers get clear tasks, guidance and, where needed, training or support.

You don't need to be a professional to make a difference. Reliability, openness and commitment matter just as much. Whether you can help once a month or are available more often: your time can be exactly what makes the difference for someone else.

Volunteering works both ways

Volunteering at Wel zo Roze isn't just about giving. It's also about meeting, learning, growing and becoming part of a committed community. We provide guidance, clear agreements and moments where volunteers meet each other. Because those who care for others deserve attention too.

Frequently asked questions

Which volunteers is Wel zo Roze looking for?+
Wel zo Roze is looking for volunteers for meetups, the buddy program, language and sports buddies, hosts, communications, fundraising, administration and organising gatherings. You don't need to be a professional — commitment and reliability matter more.
How much time does LGBTQI+ volunteering at Wel zo Roze take?+
That varies per role. Some volunteers help a few hours a month with an activity, others choose a longer commitment as a buddy. In an introductory conversation we look together at what fits your schedule and energy.
Can I help just once?+
Yes. At meetups and events, one-time helpers are very welcome, for example for a shared meal, a Pride activity or a hosting role on the evening itself.
Do I have to be LGBTQI+ myself to become a volunteer?+
No. Wel zo Roze is mainly looking for people who feel connected to the LGBTQI+ community in Amsterdam and want to respectfully contribute to well-being, safety and connection.
Do volunteers get guidance and training?+
Yes. Volunteers get clear agreements, a contact person, guidance and, where needed, training or peer supervision — for example for buddies and the host home project.
